If it does the things you want it to do, its a good camera, though not a SLR. The lens is not interchangeable.
It is a fairly basic point and shoot, pretty decent zoom, and easy to use, and has good reviews from what I have seen.

I don't really no why everyone is recommending Kodak EasyShare, since it is not known for its image quality, or overall ergonomics. Personally, I would suggest buying anything but the Kodak, GE, Polaroid, or HP. A better choice would be by something from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax, or Fuji. I've heard good things about the Nikon S200 and the Canon S5 IS, though their might be some focusing problems with the Canon. Sony has some good cameras, Pentax has the Optio series, and Fuji has the Z10. I'm not sure about the image quality on the Fuji, but from their other lines, it will probably be very good. Hope this helps.

Kodak is not known for quality cameras. Try a low end Fuji or Canon point & shoot for a better quality.

Define "good". To me it's not a good camera. It is NOT a SLR or a DSLR. Try a canon or panasonic point n shoot.

You bet it is. Fantastic. By the way, the Z812 is not an SLR.
May I suggest a Nikon D40 instead.
