Is there a way to obtain digital images from camera film by scanning it or something ?

Yup. That actually is how those 1 hour print shops do it. They don't directly use the negative but make a digital image that is printed by the machine.

There are digital readers that could be used at home but they are pretty expensive (in my opinion)
