I have an early model digital SLR (camedia e-10), and I really want to learn how to get good at photography. My composition is good, but I know nothing about using the camera and lighting. I don't really want to take a class, but I'm open to it if necessary.

I know that many of you would immediately jump out and shout Steve McCurry's photograph of Sharbat Gula in 1983, so please share with us your favourites besides Afghan Girl. Thanks!

Here is one of my personal favourites:

All lenses are for a pentax 6x7 MLU Medium Format Film camera. All lenses are manual focus.

Which one would you sell? and what would you use the other two for?

I have been shooting photos on film now for several years but I am a little lost when it comes to what digital camera I should get. I am looking for a camera with high quality photos, lots of control over my pics, and great equipment for my investment.

So far I have been considering the Canon Digital Rebel or Canon Digital Rebel XTi. Which would be a better or choice or are their other models/brands out there which would serve me better?

Right now, I use Paint.NET to edit my pictures and I've heard that using layers can really improve your photos. I have a few questions–
How do layers work?
How do you select the object that you want to put in a new layer–right now I use the free lasso and I have to carefully outline the object and sometimes I miss–is there an easier feature that I could use for doing this?
For example– I messed up on editing this photo because I accidently didn't go over and blur the part of the house right by the foot..

Thank you so much for any help!

Dr Sam, Photoace or Dick Cheney?

I do like Dick but Mr Cheney seems to lack all forms of human sensitivity, Photoace and Dr Sam seem far more helpful.

I'm a photographer in Georgia and I'm doing a fashion shoot on Monday with a lot of lingerie. There will be NO nudity involved, but I know that some stores probably have policies against developing film where there is lingerie involved. Can anybody help me by either telling me somewhere that does not, or telling me where to find stores' policies? I've looked at the CVS website and I cannot find anything about photo policies.
