I'm a photographer in Georgia and I'm doing a fashion shoot on Monday with a lot of lingerie. There will be NO nudity involved, but I know that some stores probably have policies against developing film where there is lingerie involved. Can anybody help me by either telling me somewhere that does not, or telling me where to find stores' policies? I've looked at the CVS website and I cannot find anything about photo policies.

Go to a real pro lab.

If you go to one these rinkydink processors, you may have more of a problem with proving copyright to some clerk, than in the "non-nude" lingerie

If you're doing a "fashion shoot" it sounds like something for a client ... who is probably paying you.

In which case ... never, never, never trust your files to ANY of those Big Box stores!

For Pete's sake! Go to a real camera store, with a real printing technician who knows what he or she is doing.

If you're serious about photography, then it's time you got serious about the quality of the product you're presenting.

Additionally, know how to edit, sort and manage your images so that you're presenting ONLY the good stuff. And do your own pre-press work, preferably in Photoshop.

Then you won't be relying on someone else to take creative control of YOUR images.

If there is no nudity involved, you needn't really worry. Almost any photography shop worth their salt, won't give you a problem with lingerie photography. As long as it's not pornographic, nude photography isn't much of a problem to any processor that recognizes legitimate effort. Be sure to go to a good shop, the little extra you pay is worth the result you'll get.

Why are you developing at a place like CVS anyway??? My kid did processing there as a part time college job and that is not the type of quality I would give a client anyway!

Is it 35mm or digital? If it's digital, then just go to the kiosk and hope nobody looks over your shoulder; shield it with your hands if need be. For 35mm, try looking for a mom-and-pop or offbeat place; usually they're so desperate for business (losing it to big corporate chain stores) they'll probably take anything.

Ritz Camera/Wolf Camera. Some other camera shop that does developing. They will be more lenient, so long as you are not a minor.

I've had individual cvs, rite aid, kmart and walgreens reject adult nudes at one store and accept them at another (i'm a portrait and figure painter). Wal mrt rejects almost anything in this line, but ruthlessly exploits both children and adults in their overseas factories. go figure
