I want to get sexy/seductive/provocative, etc picture(s) taken of myself to give to my husband as a gift (between us) for christmas.

My problem is that I don't know of any photographers around my area (central Iowa) who do these types of photos. In addition, I don't have the 'attire' nor 'props' to go to a freelance photographer.

How can I find a photographer that meets my needs in Central Iowa (Des Moines area)?

I think I understand what you are asking, you want a referral from someone who has experience. I think you already know how to do a Yahoo or Google search or look thru a phone book and you didn't have to post this question to be told how to do it. Here is someone that I have experience with. Heather Kalloff is an awesome photographer in Iowa, she is most definately your answer . She is actually a Master Photographer and she trains other photographers also. And she has a marvelous personality. check her out at http://www.kallhoffportrait.com/
tell her that Gil Jackson sent you.

If this is a one time thing, dont worry about an agency. NO sense paying them for info the yellow pages can give you. Check your Yellow pages. There are professional studios that can supply many costumes and props for you, and do "budoir" pics often.

The big thing is, make sure you go thru the copyright and licensing/usage agreement forms with the photographer, and understand them. You'll especially want to know any uses they might use your photos for after the set. Whether its used for marketing in the studio, online, print ads, not at all, etc...

Most pros wont consider using the pics in a way that your not aware of, but you really need to get a feel for the honesty of the photog.

Eli as much as you want to downplay what you did it was as close to cheating without sex as you can get actually what you did is called sexting. You gave this man celebrity or not the wrong impression and when you realized he would actually pursue a hookup you admitted your married. Why are you making such poor choices where your marriage is concerned, why is your marriage not important enough to protect. It is this kind of blase thinking that leads to more indiscretion then fighting and divorce, your a married lady that does not hold her vows or marriage sacred. My thinking may be what some call old fashioned, but when you marry all that playing and flirting around should stop it sends the wrong message it's sneaky and deceitful. Your guilt has you saying things like it would not bother you if your husband did it, is all BULL S H I T it would hurt if he lusted after a woman other than you. By the way this guy looking at other women in underwear ads is also a excuse he should NOT HAVE SEEN YOU IN YOUR UNDERWEAR. GROW UP AND MAKE BETTER CHOICES BEFORE YOU DESTROY YOUR MARRIAGE...

i second what Photoguy said! He''s absolutely right.

Call a few, interview them, become comfortable with who they are and how they work.

Pro photographers get these kinds of requests all the time. Nothing you suggest will shock a Pro, and they will be very helpful in the process.

The main thing - indeed the only thing! - is that you are relaxed and comfortable with the shoot. and the way to do that is to know that your husband will treasure those pictures, whatever you decide to do.

Women are such beautiful creatures ... and, to him, you are the most beautiful of all! Just remember that as you're taking the photos. You'll have a ball! And he will know what a lucky guy he is, having a woman in his life who is so willing to share herself so generously and beautifully!

Look for "glamor photo" photographers in your area. Des Moines should have plenty. They will have the necessary props, though if your husband has some particularly favorite outfits, you should take those as well.

Be very careful. Go through an agent.

Make sure the photographer is legit. Interview him/her and make sure they have a portfolio.

Def call an agency we dont want you out there with some freak. Truth is a lot of regular photo shops do them. They just dont advertise it.
Good luck.

Do a google or yahoo search for boudoir portraits in your area. Or look in the yellow pages.
