The answer to your question is not that straight forward, clear cut or obvious.

Photographs can be accessed in many ways :

Commercial Aspects : for advertising etc.
1. Crisp clean well focused and properly exposed.
2. Good composition.
3. Appropriate colour.
4. Appropriate placement of the subject.
5. Good lighting.
6. Needs to follow the clients brief.

Photography by Artist :
The artist will subvert many of the rules that are demanded in commercial photography. The image is constructed and made around a concept and in the at world a much wider range of practices and so often these images break boundaries and redefine what is acceptable and what is not.

So, it depends in which place you put your image. If you want me to evaluate the image as an artist or as a commercial photographer.

Now you may have some people who love it and others who don't. To put this into context you need to appreciate that each person is being subjective and that the many differing opinions come from the two distinct types of photography.

The only thing that matters about your image is that it pleases you. If you want to be technically adept at photography is a good idea to sign up for a college course

As a retired professional sports photographer I would have to ask if the photographer achieved the desired end. In other words did you get what you wanted from the picture? It is obvious use of back lighting but is that what you wanted? If you get the results you desired then it is a 10 or could be less depending on what you were trying to accomplish. Looking at the comments you made with the picture I think it is a good representation of looking back in time.

8/10 what I like is your exposure, this is a likely candidate to blow out the highlights, but you didn't and that's great. What I don't like is all the wasted space to the right. A tighter crop, even a vertical format would have made the image stronger.

Well done, at any rate!

Good consept but the blinds take away from the photo, also the black and white is way to harsh needs to flow better more gray overall. You seem like a great photographer just littel mistakes.

I tihnk it is okay, like a 6, but not great. I don't really like the way it is cropped and how on the left there is just a little black curtain and a lot more on the right. But, that is just me personally.

I like it a lot. I'd give it a ten because it catches the mind and wondering what is the person looking at and what she thinking.
