I have a list of premium, professional digital photo print services that will create 'archival' 8 x 10 prints for $10 to $30. Then I see Costco offering 8 x 10's for $1.99, and I've heard they produce as good a product as anyone. What is the deal? Just what makes the premium sites better besides storage space, cataloging, etc. Is it the printing equipment, paper stock, etc? Let's say I've photoshopped my photos exactly to what I want via my monitor settings. Do the premium places adjust your own 'adjustments'? Also, there is an element of subjectivity involved in the product (I might like the color/contrast results at Costco's; you might think it sucks). BTW, when Frank Stella (his paintings go for $500,000 nowadays) began painting, he went to paint store basement sales because he could only afford a dollar per gallon for paint. Now everyone calls him a genius. Bottom line? Does it make a difference where you get your work done (other than doing it yourself)?

1. Is it true that grocery store film developers developing film can turn a picture of an underaged girl involved in a sexual act over to the police, or would that be invasion of privacy?

2. Don't most grocery stores photo labs adopt the policy of not developing inappropriate pictures (ex. nude pictures of legal girls).

Sorta like Picasso's Don Quixote, but the figures look more like aliens. I'm remembering longish arms and bald heads. Is it Dali? Picasso?

I've rollered a canvas with duck egg blue emulsion, but now want to paint some patterns on it. What is the best paint to use? Watercolours or acrylic? (I tried painting some intricate designs with the blue emulsion i'd mixed, but it was just too thick, plus it just doesn't look 'deep' enough!)

I've searched for this artist for close to a year and I can't seem to get any info..what I do know is that he was born in 1921 in Frankfurt Germany he studied under Prof Steinhardt at the Academy of Munich. He then studied under Prof. Klampen at the Academy of fine arts in Vienna . He mainly painted (oils) landscapes of Germany.
I checked on the web for these schools and came up with nothing....I would greatly appreciate any of your knowledge.
Thanks
p.s the info that is above was printed on the back of one of his paintings that I own..it's a sofa painting
