I've always enjoyed drawing, but i'm not too good. I enjoy to draw little scenes of various things that are happening, most often with people, but i'm not too good at drawing people. I don't wish to learn about complex portraits with a bunch of detail, but I do want to get away from stick figures, however complex they might be. Also, i'm not too great at drawing living things like animals. Any answer is great, about any drawing or little tips too make it look better. Thanks!

I just bought the Nikkor 18-200mm lens a week ago. I like the lens so far, but it creates a darkened spot in the same place on all my images.

Sometimes the spot is a bit smaller and more defined (towards the 18mm side), and sometimes its larger and lighter (towards the 200mm side), but it's always there. (on a few images there are three spots!!).

At first I thought it was lens flare, or a hot spot, but I don't think it is. I can see the spot through the viewfinder at all times. I will upload two or three example images.

I don't know if it's some sort of dirt in the lens, or if I should return the lens to get fixed.
If anyone has any suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate them!

Thanks a bunch.
Naomi

I'm an award-winning filmmaker and photographer (nothing huge), but I am just now switching over to the new technology and I can see that I am going to need some help! Anybody know of any good websites, books, or organizations that can assist the newbies at this game? Also, any personal advice from those that are experienced at this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

btw: I just bought Quick Time Pro (for Macs), and I plan on getting Final Cut Express sometime later. I plan on getting the cheapest HD camera that will work for me. I've been using "iMovie" to make basic DVDs, but I know I want to get more advanced than what its basic features offer.

It looks like a renaissance painting of a saintly figure with a knife stuck in his head in a very slapstick kind of way, but I believe the painting is actually from the renaissance era.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a series of these paintings, and I saw a glimpse of them in an art history course and loved them, but haven't gotten a hold of the professor to ask him for the name of the painting and artist's name...I need a print of this thing on my wall :)

Thanks!

My mother recently aquired a really old game. It's called Alee Oop. It was made by Roy Toy. There isn't a date on the card board can with Tin lid. From what I gather though the game was made around 1937. I am looking for a link or someone with information about this game. Any feedback would be greatly apprieciated.

...working on a black light special F/X project, & need a type of material. Here's what I'm doing: I have built a posterboard framework, big enough to fit in an average-sized window; the window itself, is covered in a black felt material, and framed by curtains. Strung vertically across the framework, are 3 layers of black nylon thread, w/each layer an inch apart, and each thread length 1/2 inch apart from each other. On each layer of threads, I am affixing glow-in-the-dark stars, eyes, whatever, with the larger ones on the front layer, and the smaller ones, progressively back. When I shine a black light on this for a short period, this will, of course create an eerie 3-D effect.

...looking for material, kinda like the stuff used to make woman's stockings, to cover the front of the framework, so that in normal light, the illusion will be just (or almost) blackness, but when the black light is introduced, the glow-in-the-dark material will shine through.

...any ideas???
