I don't know what photo application you are using, but usually all you have to do is go to "save as" and save your image as a jpeg instead of a gif.

gaby is right. the secret to GIF images is they are used mostly by PAINT programs and not PHOTO editor programs. If you don't have a fancy paint program, MS Paint will work.

Just open paint, open the picture, click 'Save As', and name it something else, and under it, on the drop down menu, click JPEG.
