The one I could look at and immediatly remember my Bahamas vacation with. There are some suveneirs that you buy and years later forget the sentiment of them, so I would want something unique that I could relate to and remember.

I wouldn't go into an art store without first learning a little about the art of the Bahamas. Just now, browsing through various sites, I was drawn in particular to the paintings of a Bahamian trio: Stan and Jackson Burnside and John Beadle. Look at examples of their work at http://www1.uol.com.br/bienal/23bienal/paises/ipbs.htm
One series of their paintings, given the collective title Junkanoo Jam Jubilee, are brightly colored abstract expression paintings inspired by the spectacular costumes worn by Bahamians for Mardi Gras and other annual parades. The works thro color and lines seem to express the excitement and rhythm of local music.
I am sure that original paintings by these artists will be expensive, but I would settle for a print or two, since their paintings seem to conjure up the character, the music and colors of a place that I haven't visited.
