I'll be working with mainly 35mm color and slide films therefore I intend to invest in a film scanner.

(I've tried researching online and only get scanner reviews from 2001-2002 and am guessing they're most probably outdated)

I'm using Mac OSX so support for it is most crucial.
Also, I'm a hobby-photographer so I can take all my time to scan films.

Need your opinions and recommendations!

Do you think that there's a difference between good and beautiful? i think "good" deals more with style, and technique. while beauty deals more with the "Feeling"

it is an oil painting of a caucasian woman against a black background. she is wearing an orange/peach colored tunic, and is wearing a blue and white headdress. i'm pretty sure her front is facing to the left, but her face is turned and she stares directly at the viewer. hopefully i've given you enough details; does anyone know the name of this painting or the artist's name? thanks!

my boss is a big fantasy baseball guy. one of my co-workers knocked over his bronze trophy, bronze statue of a guy in a batting stance. the baseball player's bat is now broken at the hands, so he looks a little goofy at the moment. any advice on what type of adhesive can be used to re-attach the bat -and what to use to hold it in place while the adhesive sets- so that my boss doesn't have to kill someone? HELP!!!!!!!!!! it's about to get ugly up in here!!!!

One of my teachers today was telling me about a photographer that was used in the making of NIN's "Closer" music video. He said the photographer does really weird photos, using people with major deformities to make the photos creepy. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the photographer. If someone could tell me it would be great.

I was at the Menil Collection (a museum in Houston, TX) last week, and stumbled upon a spectacular piece by Magritte.

In the center of the oil-on-canvas painting is an old-style shotgun, leaning against a wooden wall. The shotgun is covered in splatter of blood. The pattern of the splatter is that which one would expect to appear on the victim, not the gun.

Absolutely brilliant...

It was titled "Survival", by Rene Magritte.

The problem is, I CANNOT find any image or mentioning of it online... Seems as if it doesn't exist!
