At this link
http://users.ticnet.com/mikefirth/whirljig.htm#WHIRLGLS
are several pictures of a triangle of steel that spins in the wind. Recently, a vicious windy day broke the blue glass shown.
It has always been my intention to fill in the area with glass (for example, the area above the cross bar is the same as below, to balance the weight) but while I have sketched several designs, I have never chosen the colors. Steel rods will be welded like those shown and shaped glass glued in place. Stained glass being limited to 24" max. places limits on the design. For a sense of scale, the side pieces of 1/2" square steel are 6 feet long and the little piece at the top is 6" long. It spins because the top is twisted with respect to the rest and the glass is sagged to fit.
Since we can't put drawings here, posting colors, especially with reference to stained glass sites is one choice. Sketches can be sent to mike1942f@yahoo.com and I will post them and name of best if OK.

How much money would you charge on a commissioned painting that was no bigger than an 18X24 done in acrylics?

I really want a polaroid camera, if not for the "cool" factor alone, then for the instant gratification of having a Polaroid picture. But everyone I mention Polaroids to says "They're cool, but..." But what? What is the downside of a polaroid camera? I know their quality is bad, and the film can be expensive sometimes, but is there anything else I need to know?

Apparently my Grandma is going to give me her old one from the late 80s/early 90s...are they hard to repair or something?

And since I guess I shouldn't waste points on a whole other, yet related question, I am thinking of getting into photography as a hobby in general. I have a 35mm camera (my mother's Cannon EOS Rebel 2000) already, but is there anything else I need? And does anyone know any good photo ops in/near Los Angeles?

Wow, that's a mouthful. Thanks, and if you can answer either one or both parts of this question, please do. It's much appreciated.

I still have acouple characters left to work with. Well, thanks again

I going to be taking photography and digital arts this summer, I love photo-shopping and making cheesy animated images....very much an armature and still learning but I really have no clue as to what types of jobs are out there I can apply this training too. I know I have time, maybe they'll inform us of our choices/paths (during these courses) but I have to admit, I'm sorta freaking out as I am not sure I am making the right choice in a degree.

I already sanded, primed, and painted a guitar my friend loaned to me, but wasn't sure what type of final coat I need to use. I used metallic blue paint as my paint, woodgrain is not visible.

What is it about some people that their photographic image looks just like them. While other people look bad in a photograph. For sure it is not even about good looking ppl vs not so good looking people. I just can not figure this out.
