it depends on what all your drawing if its a still life or if its a cartoon. Real life you have to draw detail and leave in the curved lines, a cartoon you can draw a half nose and use the rest as shadow. Dont know how much this helped, but i think its better to show then tell.

As in sketch? Or as in pull tightly? It would be easier to sketch one than to tell you how to do it. As for pulling one more tightly, whatever would you do with that bit of information?
