One of my teachers today was telling me about a photographer that was used in the making of NIN's "Closer" music video. He said the photographer does really weird photos, using people with major deformities to make the photos creepy. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the photographer. If someone could tell me it would be great.

Joel Peter Witkin, darling. The video director (who was inspired by JPW's work) is Mark Romanek.

The photographer in question is none other than Joel Peter Witkin, however he was not on the set of the video nor was he involved in the art direction. A lot of people assumed Witkin was involved in the video because of its lurid subject matter and vintage texture but the video was directed by Mark Romanek.
