My friend has a painting that I guess would be considered an "American West" type of genre. It is of a burly bearded man with horses and trees i think in the background. We researched and found that G. Bogard may be a pseudonym, G may stand for George and this man may have been friends with George Catlin, an American artist in the 1800's. Any help would be great.

I have a Canon sd800is. When set to maximum mega-pixels and on superfine quality, the photos a are 4000-5000 kb each. This makes it hard to upload and send (takes forever per photo). Does te max setting just give you a larger photo of the same quality if you set it on a lower setting, say 600x800 (medium low setting)?
Also, I have read or heard that the larger the file size, the more chances of getting compression noise in the photos if reduced to a smaller size printed photo? Help! Thank you!

I have several fashion prints from the early 1800's from R. Ackerman's Repository of Arts. They have a little foxing, but are generally in good shape. Thanks for any help.

Ah! Well, I have been asked to take some pictures of a couple I know. Of course I said yes. They both know that I am a beginner and that I hardly know what I am doing! Id like some tips on what I should tell them to do? What if we spend an hour taking pictures and all of them turn our horribly? Im kinda nervous about this and I dont know why.

Any tips would be just grand :]

I posted a question, and someone thought that lavender is light purple, and lilac is darker. I think they're both light, but lavender is more pink, and lilac is more bluish. Any artists know?

Ie, the top one is lavender, and the bottom is lilac to me. Wrong?
