I actually work on a lot of manga for my job and I find that the ones I like the best are the simplest, with not too much going on scriptwise. I mean, it should be well-written, but the artwork should do the bulk of the work. When there's too much text, it can get clunky and hard to read. I also love a good plot with well-developed characters--which is why I'm not too big a fan of the space wars type of stuff that's all about different battle ships. But that's just a personal preference. I gravitate toward bold, clean artwork.

I only like color anime and manga. The black and white stuff does not interest me.

I like stories that are mystical in nature rather than all martial arts.

I prefer the videos over graphic novels but buy those too.

I tend to buy the ones with erotic scifi themes the most.
