It's for a Kids program I'm trying to start. He stated he would charge me $40 after he did the logo. Is that a fair deal and do I have to go through with paying him?

I love to paint. Also people say I'm good at it. But how can I make living out of it? I can't think of any carriers besides a teacher. Also I was wondering how a life of an artis looks these days? How much money can you make on one painting?

In the early days people didn't smile because the lens of the camera was open for a long time. So how did it come about that with new technology people are encouraged to smile and say cheese when having a photo taken?

I need an affordable and worthwhile website to sell my work. I would create my own, but since I don't know much about computers website tutorials don't help. Is it worth signing up for sites such as deviantart or etsy?
I can sell locally for over $100 a piece (depending) and I want to expand my buyers circle further. You know, get my name out there.
Please help! I'd love some suggestions with past experience!

Thanks!

I've always been picky with the anime shows I watch and one of them has been: the artwork of the characters have to be good. I don't know why, I guess it's because it attracts me to anime and so far the animes/manga I watched or read that had good art work in them were pretty interesting and good shows/mangas.

The ones I've watched are:

Gundam Seed
Blood+
Host Club
Vampire Knight
Love Celeb
Deathnote
Samurai Champloo
Wolf's Rain

If you have any suggestions, please list them! Thanks for your time.
