How good? Its really good. You should probably wait till the release of the 40D (around Augest supposively). Its still a really good camera. If you think 8MP is bad, its more than plenty to print out 8X10 prints and is more than enough for an average user. Once you get used to the 30D it will stun you with the picture it takes. Invest in lenses thought, your camera is only as good as your lens.
