Theater & Acting - December 2007

I'm in a video productions class and I have an assignment to make a short film about anything. The only mandatory thing is that we must reverse all of the footage (so, for example, if i want it to look like the actor is walking normally, while filming he must really be walking backwards). I really really need help coming up with an idea for the plot, please keep in mind that all of the acting will be done backwards. Thanks!

The company I work for is having a Holiday Luncheon, at which several departments will be performing skits. Last year had some pretty funny ones. My team is looking for ideas. I say adult NOT meaning dirty, but because I don't want to do something that a fifth grade class would do. Let me know if you have any clever ideas.

I'm applying for a school for the fine arts and I have a MAJOR passion for theatre. Thing is, is that I don't really have that much experience because I just started getting into this stuff 2 years ago. I've only been in 2 school productions and that's it. The witches play an important role in William Shakespear's MacBeth. The prophesies of the witches lead Macbeth to seek the power and prestige of kingship, leading him to usurp the throne of Scotland. But to what extent are the wrid sisters responsible for MacBeth's murderous machinations? Research Elizabethan beliefs on witches and witchcraft, and illustrate how these befliefs shape the action in the play, including the behaviour of the MacBeths.

I'm having some trouble here. I don't know how to put the essay together, and I know I will have trouble finding quotes in the essay contributing to the beliefs on witchcraft and how they shape the action in the play, including the behaviour of Macbeths. I need some help with this essay, it's due on Friday December 2007.

In my theatre class we have to perform a monolouge from a play and i would perfer it be from hairspray. if not do you know of any others? maybe from wicked or other good shows?

I'm not just saying this because I'm her mother, but my daughter has a lot of raw natural talent. She has done a couple of plays for her school for drama club and was on "Slime Time" on Nickelodeon. She can sing, dance, and act. The problem is, we don't have any money to enroll her in professional training. Many of the websites that deal with acting for children are asking for an arm and a leg!!! I'm on disability, so I have a VERY limited income. I don't think that it's right that just because of our unfortunate situation that her dream of becoming an actress won't come true!! What can I do for her? We live about an hour from NYC. I don't know ANYTHING other than there are a lot of scam artists out there wanting money and cannot guarantee a job for my daughter. My doctors don't expect me to live for too much longer, and I want to die knowing that I helped make her dream come true. Please help me.

I need 9 items that represent the character Brutus, all I can think off is : Knife (his murder plot), money (wealthy), a cross ( he would swear to god that he would kill Caesar because he thought it was still wrong), and an army soldier ( He led an army against Antony)

My sister thinks she saw this play at the Shaw Festival in Niagra-on-the-Lake in 2004, but we can't figure out wich one it is. It's about a young woman who is very prim and proper, and she's afraid to bring her fiance home because her family is completely eccentric.
Her brother is inventing explosives in the basement, so there are a lot of explosions, and her grandfather told everyone he was dead to evade taxes.
It's set in the Victorian era.
My drama group loves the sound of this play, but we can't figure out the title, or even the author. It may not even really be Shaw.
If anyone knows the answer to this, they will be making a lot of actors very happy!

as far as the monologue I would like to do one from Romeo and Juliet or mabye Hairspray . Any suggestions? other monologue selections are welcome. Mabye one from Diary of Anne Frank the play? as far as the song, I dont have that good a range and I sing a kind of alto range. I was thinking of doing a whole new world by aladdin, desperado by the eagles, ode to billie jo by bobbie gentry or possibly something to talk about by bonnie raitt. I think i need a song that is a kind of balladic, lower octave song that i can add some emotion to . Any other song or monologue suggestions?

I originally wanted to get a major in English Education and a minor in theatre, but I have recently rediscovered my love for theatre. I want to make it my major, but I don't know if I could make a decent living with it.
