The play that I am trying to be in is at my school and it's fame and I wanted to know is there any place I can get all the songs and put them on my ipod to practice?

I really would like it to be free : )

If you rent the movie to study the show, remember that the film version is MUCH different than the stage production. Both are favorites of mine, they're just very very different. Don't expect the film.

All I can suggest to get the music is iTunes, but that certainly isn't free. You could probably look up some of the songs on YouTube... I'm sure there's plenty of videos of any number of people singing some of those songs. That won't get them on your iPod, though, sorry.

Amazon.com should have an original cast recording listed, and a list of songs that you can look up on YouTube. Break at leg at your auditions!

You can go to limewire.com and download the legal software. It takes a while to get used to, and there's a chance you might not be able to find it, but its a free way to possibly get the music.
Good luck!
