THE POST-INDUSTRIAL SIMULACRE

It has been some decades since Western culture could be accurately described as Industrial. Since the under-consumption crisis of the Thirties, we have shifted entirely into a social structure dominated not by production but by reproduction, not by equivalence but by commutation, not by merchandise but by the model. We live in a post-industrial world. A world no longer where all labor is exchanged and loses its singularity but where labor and leisure become entwined. Not a culture bought and sold but one where all cultures simulate one another. Not a place where love is prostituted but where a liberated keel sexuality is compulsory. And an era in which time is no longer accumulated like money but is broken in a confused web of nostalgia,
fetishism and futurism.

"I was pondering whether one opinon could ever be superior than another, or if many of the same opinons were superior over one single different opinion. I have concluded that it's all a matter of opinion." A quote of mine, agree, disagree, humerous, stupid? Give me your opinion, lol.

Myself, I'm stacking the deck with a lot of things to experience and hope I don't reach the end of the list before the end, since I want to do everything...I hope I don't have to check off being eaten by an animal.

You have a wish to get a very important something - a love, a sense, a gift -
would you rather -
1 - never have the something because their is a great rick to getting it? (a risk where you could maybe die)
2- get the "something" but have to deal with losing it and never getting it again? (you would be deeply depressed without it)

just provide your answer, why, the reason for choosing, and what you would want

thanks

Like it does everything to either make you want to lose faith in life and love completely...or harden and numb your heart like most people....like it wants to turn all your love to bitterness or indifference...and if not...you're doomed to be miserable and melancholic...crawling..staggering like a wounded animal..groping blindly in the dark til you reach the edge
of your pointless existence.

I've always thought about how all major competitors usually have red or blue in their symbol/logo

Some examples:
Democrats [blue] and Republicans [red]
Canadian Politics: Liberals [red] and Conservatives [blue]
Coca Cola [red] and Pepsi [blue]
Walmart [blue] and Kmart [red]
Canada [red] and States [blue, to some sorts]

Any other examples? I'm sure theres a lot more

Basically, what I'm asking is, is there a reason behind this or is it just a big coincidence?

"Books containing racial slurs should be ALLOWED on school reading lists or in SCHOOL libraries"

I am in a philosophy class and must be objective towards this statement and be going FOR it not against. I'm having a difficult time with this, and have resolved that these books should be allowed for ppl. to view how back then ppl. used to freely express themselves, and this is useful for educational purposes. Learn about what our history was like...

However, I feel i dont have enough support for the arguement....any suggestion ?

please & Thank you =)

I constantly have to define myself for others. The problem is that the definitions always belong to those who define, not to those who are defined.

I see group of the earth. People are all the same. But somebody said that's incorrect thinking. How about in some religion? It's group. If I went a country of where people can't eat cow, I have to see the group otherwise i'll be in big touble or have to go to jail?

Do I need to see group? Or can I always look individuals?

Introverted iNtuiting involves synthesizing the seemingly paradoxical or contradictory, which takes understanding to a new level. Using this process, we can have moments when completely new, unimagined realizations come to us. A disengagement from interactions in the room occurs, followed by a sudden “Aha!” or “That’s it!” The sense of the future and the realizations that come from introverted iNtuiting have a sureness and an imperative quality that seem to demand action and help us stay focused on fulfilling our vision or dream of how things will be in the future. Using this process, we might rely on a focal device or symbolic action to predict, enlighten, or transform. We could find ourselves laying out how the future will unfold based on unseen trends and telling signs. This process can involve working out complex concepts or systems of thinking or conceiving of symbolic or novel ways to understand things that are universal. It can lead to creating transcendent experiences or solutions.

I mean with slavery the captor has to feed, clothe the slave. Not to mention the possibility of a revolt.

With credit card debt, the companies peacefully recieve interest money and fees with little or no risk.

The only difference is debtors let their desires trap them into debt.
