80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

I am also God's son so we must be brothers!
The meaning of life is to fulfill our full potential for developing, experiencing and providing love, joy, peace, kindness and wisdom as our contribution to the human experience. We do this in imitation of those same gifts freely given to us by God. Through the practice of these virtues we expand our knowledge of our shared consciousness with God. This shared consciousness survives and forms the basis of our life after this life.

If you are God's son, then the meaning of life is to know and experience your Father. This process of seeking our Father and allowing Him to reveal Himself is called worship.

For the last time, the meaning of life is found in living a good life. It carries its meaning in itself.
Quick note: Our sun does not have enough mass to go super nova. It will swell into a red giant and roast us anyway, but no on the super nova. :-) What a brave an noble thing to accept our mortality and find the meaning in the living itself. You are authentic!

I think the meaning in life is really to be the best person you can be love don't hate forgive and forget and I think there is a purpose for everyone its just hard to see what it is and maybe you will never know but people might find out years ahead who knows you might have a kid that finds the cure for cancer and without you that kid never would have been born and there might not ever be a cure u just don't know

Beware making 'looking for the meaning of life' the meaning of your life. Not a few on here seem to have done so - and look! they are still looking.

I believe that the reason of life is destiny. Whether your purpose is to save the world or to just to give a helping hand, God has always had a way to make your life purpose-full.
