Consider for a moment the possibility that Anthropogenic Global Warming is "made up" fiction created by the scientists of the world as a means of making them important and reliable. Personally I don't think this is remotely close to reality, but purely hypothetically speaking, just go with me on this for a moment.
The question is, if the whole scientific fear campaign were fictional, what would result from a planetary wide trusting of these people? What would happen to our social, economic, political, religious, technological, environmental, and industrial society? How would believing something like that change us, how we live, work, play, shop, trade, relax, etc?

Consider these control constants in this hypothesis: Our planet is approaching peak oil; The nuclear energy industry is desparately seeking new places to bury radioactive waste, while at the same time promoting itself with a passion; We have exceeded the sustainable limit of global human population; We war with each other

to me, it's about enjoying the little things and enjoying the company around you (personally, i can't stand being alone). i think people shouldn't worry about what'll happen after it's over. but fit as much partying as possible in to it while still fulfilling your hopes and dreams. and then, when you've done that, to finally be at peace.

okay, i've got to admit i didn't really care if you answered this question. mind you, i do like to hear your opinions and your points of view. but i have a few friends that spend all their time worrying about 'their time' and i felt like enlightening some people (hopefully).

Perhaps it was a kind word, a smile, simply a sunset, a bird singing, or even an old friend calling to say you are loved? I see all these things and more as spiritual moments.
Peace Be With You,

...love of self (self meaning both body and philosophy or outlook on life). Socrates was criticized for his teaching of his philosophy and ordered to kill himself. Did he do so because he loved his philosophy so much he could not bear life with out it; that he could not consider he might be wrong in some way?

I keep wondering what the point of anything is. I don't mean just the point of school or my purpose, I mean the point of ANYTHING. Seriously, what is the point of the world and people and even the universe, why does anything matter, or even exist? EVERYONE will die eventually, so what is the point of anything, why does anything even exist? I don't understand why there is even anything, such as the world and the universe, but it's such a weird thought because otherwise, there would be nothing. Like absolutely nothing. WEIRD.... Hmm, I wonder what that would be like... Do any of you get what I'm saying?? By the way, I'm not just crazy or anything...

The German philosipher Friedrich Nietzsche once said that 'God is dead'. He also believed that this will lead to an objection of belief an an objective and universal moral law. Do you agree and why?

commit suicide. I get how that could be a debatable question but is it really the most difficult? I guess why he says that is because of thoughts like "what's so special about me, who am I to the world, I'm worthless, etc" and the idea that after death there's endless nothingness, so what's the point? and things like that questioning what is a life, questioning whether or not to END a LIFE. So is there? A more difficult question?

No, I am not misquoting Descartes, and I am not asking who DID say it. I'm asking who might have said it.... a philosopher perhaps, or maybe a religious/spiritual leader?

Hello, I have a friend who quotes 'animals are there to be used by humans', when asked why she feels this way - she says it says so in the bible.... does it REALLY? Considering we are 98 per cent the same DNA as a chimp, we are animal, animals can be human - surely we should respect all living things. Please help! I'm confused! Many thanks.
