No, I am not misquoting Descartes, and I am not asking who DID say it. I'm asking who might have said it.... a philosopher perhaps, or maybe a religious/spiritual leader?

It could have been a poet too, or a musician, or a fellow amusing himself. I seem to remember a Gershwin song that said something about having plenty of nothing. Also a Rilke sonnet comes to mind where he speaks of a 'pure too little turning around and becoming that empty too much.'

I did not realize a hidden microphone was in my kitchen! No doubt in my kitchen sink!

Really I believe we all subconsciously have said that about ourselves in some situation but we never put that feeling into words until you just did just now.
