We all believe we are conscious and others are aware like us. But there is no scientific, empirical proof of this. You can not isolate a conscious mind from its body and test it empirically. It is always associated with an animal body and thus subject to the interpretation that consciousness is an emergent property of the activity of the animal brain. As such an emergent property this consciousness has no reality in the sense it actually exists as something. To believe it does have reality requires FAITH. Don't you believe you, the aware you, is a reality, is really something? Don't you have FAITH?

were are all made of energy, and energy is composed of matter. so, if I were to pray to any god it would be sending more energy to that perticular god, and "dwell on your fears and the will manifest" (or something like that). so why would it be wise to believe in the devil?

im just wondering how you live! how do you even function without something to believe in? In your opinion nothing has meaning, everything is chance, there is nothing that gives particulars meaning. In your opinion what is the point of humans without a divine God? doesn't this trouble you?
What fills you up? what makes you mean anything to anyone if you are just the product of chance living in a vast confused universe??? i just don't know how you could continually live life having no purpose, and virtually no answers.

if the universe is random then how come everything in creation is so orderly? if you are chance then whats the point?
If God is dead "or non existent" than all else is lost?
Have you ever thought about these things?
im just wondering.

Big lies are more easily believed!
"The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad.
The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies, but would be ashamed to tell big lies." Adolf Hitler -- he would know !

So too, if a project is fouled up, is it usually fouled up beyond all recognition ?

(If it wasn't spectacularly fouled up, any residual desired functionality and desired reliability could easy be "hauled in", using the existing scaffolding of, for example, an unreliable system with slabs of functionality missing).

Did someone do this to Collins Australian submarine project ?

(I don't know, I'm merely posing the question).

Hello, in school today we had a discussion about Thomas Aquinas' Cosmological theory.
When shortened, the theory basically states that ''Everything must have a cause. Nothing comes from nothing'' following on from this famous quote, he believes that if everything has to have a cause, then something must of caused the universe to be created. He believed God or ''the first cause'' must have created it. Read more about the Cosmological Theory here:
http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/theism/cosmological.html
There are many visible flaws in this theory and over hundreds of years, people developed thorough arguments to the theory. I also have my views about this theory and I must say I am very skeptical about it.
I was thinking to myself, if God was the creator of everything, if there was nothing that existed before God, then why did he choose to 'cause' Satan to exist? I have never read the bible, so forgive my lack of knowledge about the origin of Satan.

Thanks.

As a lapsed catholic this is the only statement from my forced bible studies that stands out.Does it hold any relevance to the whole philosophy of belief and religion-is it an existential clue to the bible and other fairy stories?
Three small words to sum up the whole basis of gnostic indoctrination.
There is no answer to that question.I am curious -What is all this about; What is truth?
why do all these mind numbing tenets and vengeful rules exist deciding by decree how to live a life And why do all these rackets of brainwashiing and control of the masses originate in the middle East ?
I know my truth now tell me yours................
