some people are lucky and some aren't i guess
Yes i think it does happen for a reason; however, i think that without suffering the world would not be the same. We would not turn to others for help. Your question is hard to answer, it is like the question "why don't we live forever" if we were immortal we wouldn't take risks or ever wonder "what if..." so i suppose without suffering we would never be thankful that we are happy or feel any sorrow and learn to accept life. Sometimes if we are near a form of suffering we create a stronger friendships or we turn to someone or thing for help- suffering changes people's life (better or worse that is up to us). I think everything happens for a reason, life shows us that when something happens there is always an effect (a reaction to the change)
If that was any help I am surprised, but that is my opinion.

Yes it does. I don't know why i feel this way, I mean probably because i wouldn't want to feel any other way!
The reason for violent crimes, is because of the devil. He temps mortals to sin. Yes, God saves people as a result of violence sometimes, a lot of times. It helps others realize that life is too short to be living the wrong way, God punishes those who sin, but rewards others for good works.

Sorry... I dont feel that God is on anyones side. I sometimes feel that I am annoyed with him too, cos if he was there, why does he take away the people you love most??
There are always going to be the dregs of society that cause these type of crimes, and as it takes allsorts to make up the world we live in, I guess its inevitable that they will continue to happen long after we are all dead, gone and buried ourselves...only the weapons used will be more forceful.
Theres always going to be someone who feels the necessity to relieve someone of life along the way. That will never stop. But I do believe in karma, and untill we all come here and get it right, there will always be some still doing wrong.
There are a lot of good people out there too, please dont forget that in your quest to find reasons. And sometimes depending on the company you may be keeping the good can be seen to outweigh the bad...
There are reasons behind everything we do. They are 'learning curves' to teach us right from wrong. They are there purely for that. The fact that there are some out there who still do wrong just means that they havent come as far along the learning path as the ones of us who do right..
Thats all

Sure, everything happens for a reason. That doesn't mean to say it is a good reason for everyone involved. Most stuff happens by default anyways. That means that there doesn't need to be intentionality or consciousness involved. If you look deep enough, you'll find that there are no accidents, no luck, no miracles or magic, in other words that everything that happens has a reason. You asked the question for a reason and I answered it for a reason. Everything is perfect, whether you, I, or anyone else thinks so. There is a reason for that too.

Yes everything that happens does so for very specific reasons. The phenomenon is called 'Causality'. Sometimes events have a large number of influencing factors that give the appearance of randomness or unreason. But this is only because we are not always aware of all the factors involved. Technically, there is no such thing as chance or luck. These factors are just extrememly complex systems of causality at work.

Everything happens for a reason, but the reason isn't always what God wants. It's core to Christianity that man has free will, and man's nature is now to do evil.
So, if your question implies that God is in control and wants certain people to deal with terrible things, no. It's a sad fact that we live in a sin sick world.
If God had it His way, there would be no sin, no unhappiness, no tears. In fact, He will have it His way, hop aboard!

It called the law of cause and effect. Things happen and this causes certain effects. You're presuming God is involved in the day to day minutia of creation,
and why should He?
Religious considerations aside, the law of cause and effect has been in existence since the beginning. If you were to believe
quantum theory, the universe resulted from nothing and for no reason, making it the ultimate free lunch.

Everything happens for a reason, but it might not be a reason pre-ordained from God. If you are the victim of violent crime, then the reasons lie with those who hurt you, or with you for being in the situation, or somewhere else. But there is a reason.

Of course things happen for a reason, it's called Murphy's Law, randomness, entropy the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics and other 'natural' of physics. Why do things fall to the earth? the Law of Gravity.... do we question that law or pin it on some supernatural entity?
I refuse to believe that the decision i make to go for a walk this afternoon was determined a millesecond after the Big Bang....don't make me laugh.
