I read part of this book called "flowers for algernon". it's really sad. it's about a man named charlie who is mentally challenged. after an operation, he turns into a super genius until he finds out he will die because of the operation. would life be easy if you were really smart? it seems like charlie only had problems when he was smart.

Would your god not want you to learn all you can about the world around you? Embrace science, do not be afraid of it.

Or do I just sound like a snake in the grass?

If a fly is called a fly because it flies. Why isn't a bird called a fly? And why isn't a fish called a swim?
I hope this doesn't confuse you all!!!!!

take a piece of paper and tear it into smaller pieces. Write down Jesus on one piece. Jehovah on another piece. Allah on another. Then write creation on a piece. evolution on a piece. etc. until you get a hat full of little oieces of paper. Put them in a hat and shake them up. Grab a handfull and read them. that is your new religion. I think it's a great idea.

Does a slowly starving child in Ethiopia or an American soldier quickly bleeding to death in Iraq have the luxury of contemplating the existence of the external world?

Are they thinking things like:

What if I'm in the Matrix? What if I'm dreaming? What if I'm some kind of "experiment"? What if everyone else is a robot?
Am I the only being with a mind (solipsism) and everyone just appears to have one? What if I'm God and created this universe and put myself in it only to forget I did so? What if I'm a computer program or a holographic program?

Does a soldier who has just had one half of his body blown away from a bomb ask himself in the last few seconds of his life "What if I'm in the Matrix?"

And do the people who wonder if life really exists have the luxury of not having to do deal with life's harsher realities?

How is it a mystery?

... mine, at this stage of my life, is 'earnest'... this is a short but effective word that whenever I use gives me the strength for my purpose; it spurs me on to apply myself fully, sincerely and earnestly.

This word has two syllables that merge together to form one simple word, which seems to be a composite of two very valuable words in life in general: earn and nest.
Now tell me what is at the top of your charts.

And if you like to know more about the words people like then check the following link, but I suggest that you should give your response first.

With so many unanwerable hypothesis which attack the veracity of the senses:

What if I'm in the Matrix?

What if I'm dreaming?

What if I'm some kind of "experiment"?

What if everyone else is a robot?

Am I the only being with a mind (solipsism) and everyone just appears to have one?

What if I'm God and created this universe and put myself in it only to forget I did so?

What if I'm a computer program or a holographic program?

I've heard all of these ideas and much, much more. They are very common in philosophy. So, have you ever thought about these questions? What conclusions did you come to?
