According to Genesis, God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and Eve was formed from one of his ribs. How does that translate in theistic evolutionary terms?

Genetics. Think about it. God is science. He made all things. Ask yourself this: What is inside bone marrow and what bone can we most likely live without? We seem to have plenty of ribs to "spare" (no pun intended) and bone marrow contains good source of DNA. You see. The bible is full of metaphor and God reveals it to us as He see fit. Just have faith and quit pondering such thoughts. Besides, what sep's us from female is a simple carbon molecule anyway, right?

Since Genesis is in direct conflict with evolution, I doubt many Theistic Evolutionists believe in anything from that part of the bible.

The Book of Genesis is not a treatise on geology or biology. It is a theological narrative that is attempting to display the relationship of God to the act of creation, and creation's relationship with God. Further, one could assert the existence of God as the formal cause of the universe, including the process of evolution, without any reference to or belief in the biblical narrative. I would recommend the work of John Polkinghorne in regards to the relationship of religious worldviews and those of science.

Incorrect - we all start out as female and then a gene mutates and becomes male. Eve didn't bite the apple, Eve didn't steal a rib - HE lied since HE was born...

I wonder if any theistic, non-Christian evolutionists will be insulted.

Read books on Edgar Cayce and it will tell you how man and woman were created. Do your research....the bible is full of fairy tales.
