You can take a horse to water but cannot make it drink. Just use it yourself and see how people enquire about it.

The key is the exact opposite of what the others have said, if only a few people want to buy it then you lower price and advertise. If no one wants to buy it then you make it outrageously expensive, there are many stores in this country that have products that are absolutely identical to cheaper ones but sell it for way more. This is because there is a group of people who feel the need to over pay for crap to make them feel elite.
As for the other guy who said lower the price to increase demand: that is not how it works one lowers price to increase QUANTITY demanded there is a huge difference. I am an economics major and just could not let that one go.

This seems like the economics koan version of "what is the sound of one hand clapping?"

If nobody is willing to buy, then there is no sale. Alternatives are:

1. to "sell" to a junk yard or thrift store for no money
2. if you have to, you may lower your price to a negative amount. In other words, you may pay someone else to take the product off your hands. If you send your product negative enough, you should find a willing "buyer" somewhere.

Basic economics say to lower the price to raise demand. But if there is "no" demand, that won't work. Like the person above stated, it's in advertising, convincing people they want it or need it. MAKE a market for the good. Look at bottled water. You can get hundreds of gallons from your faucet, and pay what, 30 bucks? OR because the companies convinced you bottled water is better somehow, you can pay 2 dollars for 20 ounces. Is it? No. Do people care? Suprisingly not.

. It's done all the time!
Persuade people that they NEED this new product. Price it to sell. Even Eskimos buy refrigerators.
How many fools, er, people bought the new $600 iPhone? They were told they Needed all the gadgets in it.
