The phenomenon of music is given to us with the sole purpose of establishing
an order in things, including, and particularly, the coordination between man and
time. To be put into practice, its indispensable and single requirement is
construction. Construction once completed, this order has been attained, and
there is nothing more to be said. It would be futile to look for, or expect anything
else from it. It is precisely this construction, this achieved order, which produces
in us a unique emotion having nothing in common with our ordinary sensations
and our responses to the impressions of daily life. One could not better define the
sensation produced by music than by saying that it is identical with that evoked by
contemplation of the interplay of architectural forms. Goethe thoroughly
understood that when he called architecture petrified music.

In pirates of the carribean, jack sparrow saw the seas as freedom. Many sailors do that, but that was before all the seas were charted, and there was nowhere to hide. Early americans saw the frontier as freedom, but then the US goverment caught up once it was all settled...People in the early 1900s saw the skies as freedom, but after ww1 and ww2 and cold war missle development, no matter where you are in the sky, they can find you. Physicists and those guys see space as freedom, an infinately large place, the final frontier, "Set full sail" "To the skys" "Warp engage"

Where do you expect to find freedom? My freedom is in the skies and forests. I think we all know why, for peace.

Is there any meaning to the evil we experience and any suffering that we have to endure? There must be a reason for all this. Probably to better ourselves as far as suffering is concerned. Evil helps us to realize there are better things in life that outweighs evil.

The way he treats those aound him? The way he struts around like a macho man. Or perhaps what he can provide for his family. His ability to stand up to hash condition in order to provide for those he loves. To continue carrying on for what he believes in even when those around him disagree. What makes a man disireable? Is it all based on looks? Tall, masculine, chisel looks, big package, etc.

Well, its been a few months since this question was asked. According to the ask page.

Telling me the Bible says nobody does not even come close to an answer.

God exists. Where did God come from? Out of nothing is not a proper responce. How about actually thinking about it before throwing out some dogma in responce?

If you have no higher power to make you account for anything you've done?

....I mean, if I'm just gonna be a dead pile of skin when I die and my spirit won't live on and I have nobody to really punish me....why would I care if I went out and killed someone?? Maybe the law would send me to jail but....jail is the worst punishment I could ever face besides the possible (but unlikeyl) death sentence.

Why should a man even feel bad for going out and raping your children? If he gets away with it whats wrong with that? There's nothing that makes it wrong becides laws that human beings have created.

Where do you think out emotions come from?? How can humans be such complicated beings with deep emotion and thought without being designed by a creator?

Deep inside you, you know when something is wrong. But who's to say it is?

What's the point of us even being here?

What you're saying means we were an accident, you and I are just pointess beings...

I just don't understand.

If there is no God, how did the earth come to be? The earth, the galaxy surely did not poof out of no where, you do not get something from nothing. Since a higher power only seems to be the answer; wouldn't that mean that we were created from a higher power as well. If the Earth did pop out of no where, how did it form organisms to create complex creatures. And if thats the case, how do we know if God intended us to be evolved or not anyway?
What I'm saying is, isn't a God the only way we could be in existence. I mean I understand people thinking we evolved, but the galaxy and Earth forming did not come out of no where.

Carbon Dating..."a chemical analysis used to determine the age of organic materials based on their content of the radioisotope carbon-14; believed to be reliable up to 40,000 years"

Heres my question.... This is the literal definition... I've gotten my teachers to admit that Carbon dating is reliable at all once it gets to be so old....

From that hypothesis that the older something is, the less accurate this method of dating, then how can people say that the Earth is billions of billions of years old?
