I believe it is impossible to be nothing but yourself. The many different attitudes and personality traits that we have through different situations and people, are all ways in which we adapt and assimilate. I don't believe if we act differently, or follow a trend or what have you, that we are being fake and not ourselves. Sometimes people act goofy, immature etc., but just because it may be socially unacceptable, does it mean we aren't being ourselves?

that you act in a way that comes natural to you. You do not act as you think people want you to.

People who act differently toward other people or agree to things just for the sake of approval from others, then they are not being themselves. If they do something by following a trend, not bc they like it, but bc everyone else is doing it, then they are not being themselves. Most people put on an act instead of being themselves.

It means to see only the things YOUR eyes can see, taste only the tastes YOUR tongue can taste, smell only the scents YOUR nose can smell. Feel only the emotions YOUR heart can feel.....and KNOW that noone else will experience these things exactly the same
It means you see beauty from an angle so very personal
You feel unique passions for unique reasons
It means being magnificent in human form and being a part of the whole
It means being true and gravitating to all the things that make you smile, laugh, feel love, hope and joy
It is feeling free to express yourself and embrace your choices
It is being grateful to be YOU - it is the perfection of life
It means having confidence with the person looking back at you from the mirror
It means feeling from within, the heart beating, that pumps the blood through your veins
It means crying when something touches a soft spot within your soul
It means feeling the hair stand up on your arm when something gives you goosebumps
and at times, it means feeling fear which only lives in our minds, feeling heartache from the detachment of another
It means being able to sense the heat of anothers soft touch
......it means being grateful for waking up in the morning and being alive because only yourself can open your eyes and realize that you have been granted one more day to experience life
............the things in life that bring you the most joy and happiness are the things that will make you feel most comfortable and like yourself......................................
IT MEANS LOVING THE PERSON YOU ARE

Only you can tell if you are 'being yourself'. It has to do with feeling relaxed and comfortable.
Some people are 'themselves' when they follow trends and all that.

I don't agree...I think young teens,,especially girls,,, try and act older and more worldly than what they are to be Kool. They dress in a way they are not comfortable with and talk a little too loud....they are not being themselves...

Yes, you're absolutely right and i never thought about that.
The only idea of not being oneself must be born from perception and self-interest...when our behavior does not conform with the general consensus....

For me, it means to be at ease with who am I. I'm not self-conscious when I'm being myself, and I can burp, fart, or do other things I do regularly without fear of being judged.
