I feel like the quality of my life is suffering. I answer questions, get points, interact, but...nothing happens! It's not helping my real life offline, or at least, not as much as reading or socializing in person would. Should I swear Yahoo! Answers off completely, delete my account, and get on with it?

0 ≠ 1 = Unity
Nothing is not equal to one.
=> Nothing differs from Unity.
This is the very basis of modern science and philosophy.
But, Why do people tend to reject the basic principle - NOTHING DIFFERS FROM UNITY?

i keep forgetting things alot. an example would be someone would tell me to do something and then i say ok, then i forget right away (well like a few seconds right away), and sometimes while i talk in conversations i am talking about something then someone else talks about something and i forget what i was gonna say because i talk about the other subject!!! its pissing me and i cant fuckingdo do anything about it!!!

and then when i call on someone, they are too busy thinking about something, and then i call their name again and they still wont respond, finally when i yell they get mad and say "why do you yell?"

how can i stop forgetting? its pissing me off and everyone else

Many prophecies have stated that the world will end in 2012. Coincidence?

*Mayan calendar, considered far more accurate than our own, ends on December 22, 2012. They predict a catastrophic event taking place.

*A Web Bot, created to predict stock market trends, predicts a worldwide calamity taking place in 2012

*The Chinese Book of Changes timeline ends in 2012

*Scientists speculate that a rare astronomical event will take place in 2012, but are not sure what exactly will happen. They believe that a newly discovered black hole in the center of the Milky Way will align with our solar system.

*The Hopi Indians predict the end of times when the "sun gets hotter" and "submersion" (rising oceans?) occur.

Are all of these predictions too similar to ignore?

What is natural and instinctual for humans?

Many of us pair for life and wouldn't want it any other way. While many still have multiple wives or can't stop cheating.

In the animal kingdom, animals seem to be one way or the other. I own bird species from both sides. The species that pair for life, I have NEVER seen them 'cheat'. They are always with the same partner until one of them dies.

Is there naturally one way or the other for humans? Is it because we have a choice and are more intelligent that we go both ways?
Is having one partner for life unnatural to us? Or is that how it's really meant to be?

The Bible's many stories are reminiscent, in a sense, of a good children's book. Through characters and plot, they teach important lessons - be kind, don't kill, don't steal, and many more elaborate ones. Arguments have been made in support of the Bible's metaphorical nature; others maintain it spells the literal truth.

I realize this is a loaded question, one that's likely to "stir the pot". My intent is to, fairly, collect various points of view. But it's also more than that. We all have unfounded points of view that are based on the opinions of those around us, various dogmas, a strong desire for things to be a certain way - or even based on nothing at all.

So, it's important to base our points of view on a well grounded argument, and this is the second part to my question. Can you provide a good argument, based not on "so-and-so said", or personal belief, or desire - but evidence, be it physical, historical, or other? Can you show that your argument stands on its own?

Think about it. There have been thousands of generations before us slaving away to make the next generation better than the one before. It seems that with all that expended effort, everyone by now should have a house and enough food to last a lifetime, even considering the boom in population.

We work because we don't make things to last and destroy what was built in the past.

Work should really be like play, an option you elect to better yourself and others. What do you think?

Are there principles or axioms from which we can reason out whether something is ethical or not? What are these axioms?

I would guess that some of them might be something like, "Humans are innately valuable," and "Freedom is an inalienable right." How does this apply to animal cruelty? Statutory rape? Human experimentation?

I eagerly await your responses.

what do you play? - We cannot all be the lead, so as host (S), shall I choose first? I pick percussion - twirling my tamborine and beating the living rythym from my red lacquered latin congas and bongos... I will sing in syncopation and counterpoint, echoing and embroidering on the melody.

If Satan could take any form and is more intelligent than any human, how would any mortal know that Satan did not himself write the various books of the Bible as a tool to control human behavior and promote violence against the peoples of other religions? How would we know if Satan was among us right now and professing to be a Christian?
