No matter where you go, or who you meet, you will not find happiness.. Happiness is something you "feel" within yourself. I get a lot of pleasure when I do things for others or make something to give as a gift. Try doing volunteer work if you are able or visit a nursing home and just listen to lonely people talk about their life. Find something to do that you enjoy doing, like a hobby. I enjoy crocheting, knitting sewing and gardening. Visit this seniors section more often, there are some very funny people here. Laugh out loud at least once a day. I agree - Its vital to live our lives on an optimal level by doing things we like. I would live through 1000 years of torture for one moment of true love. Anyway we have to live for the good things in life---because ----well there really isn't anything else we can do. life is often so miserable for some people that they just have to hope for better things to come and live for what makes them happy. We have to live and just keep getting wiser through our suffering. There really is no other option available, no way to escape because where ever we are we are learning through suffering to become better.
For me what makes my life happy is just talking to people, feeling confident in myself and helping others.
I think the purpose of life is to progress through mental stimulation and also through what makes us happy.
My English teacher said something very wise to me once.
"acknowledge the bad times but dwell on the good ones"

My happiness in life is simple. Eating main dishes three times a day. Going to malls and church with my family during weekends.
Listening to jazz music soothes my relaxation. Caring for other people is the most significant in life because it makes you achieved fulfillment in life.

nothing makes me happy, therefore life has no meaning.
or maybe I'm just in a really bad mood.
I'm retracting that statement. Nature makes me happy, kindness makes me happy (mine and that of others), children make me happy and finishing a great novel makes me imensely happy.
Doesn't amount to much does it, but then that's life I guess

I agree with you - partly.
Purpose of life is to experience happiness and sadness, and finally to understand what is life.
Actually there is nothing like happiness and sadness.
If one felt that some thing gives happiness, and obviously what happens is, he/she will run behind it and end up with sadness. Reason: there is no permanent definition for 'happiness'.
I have temprory happyness and i am trying to find out what is real happyness.

If you don't have fear of any kind
(Being fail, getting scold, being hated, being late, being socially discarded etc etc) or greed of anything then you get chance to get happy by
getting praised, fulfilling physical needs (like eating delicious food, playing, swimming, sex etc), getting loved etc.
Now you got how to get happy.
A well fed puppy with its mother is much much much more happy than a me before exam.
