Honey, I think first of all you need to define diversity....
Does this mean to you any slight divergant from the mainstream????
Look at everything you love, your music, your art, your philosophical view points and ask yourself if anyone ever thought that those views were diverse?
Anything that does not conform to the mainstream is theoretically diverse or diviant, keep that in mind.
Are you religious?
If so has your particular religious view point always been a readily accepted one? If not, then it was - at some point- diverse.
What about your political views - do you believe women should get the vote?
Up till 100 years ago that view was very diverse.
By challenging society we create change.
If our ancestors had decided to subscribe themselves to an absolute future of hunting and gathering then there would be no internet communication, keep that in mind.
What may seem diverse and extreme now could be the milestone of the future.
I know you will find your own way through this xoxoxo

Diversity is a law of nature or should be. Any organism that reproduces sexually will have a genetic discrepancy from their parents even with plants is this so. So, diversity based on hereditary is unstoppable. Then we have environmental factors which, nurtures diversity of humans, plants, and other animals. Environmental factors to diversity create different skin colour, facial features etc., for humans If all humans were the same we would all get along until we developed hate for our self or others then we would start separating each other into different stereotypes to create diversity based on behaviour. So, no matter what diversity will always be present. Is it important? Yes, for evolution it is because it creates evolved species that can survive with the climate and Earth changes but also diversity is important because it brings new knowledge, new behaviour, and stronger economies through diverse products. If no diversity existed humans would keep one way of reasoning that would keep us from never producing theories that would revolutionize the world because we would all believe the world was flat for example. We would all eat the same foods and use the toliet at the same time.

I think diversity is important and exciting. An exchange of ideas and ideology is how we grow as people or as a nation. It allows people to take an old idea or method and try something new, perhaps better.
I like hearing other peoples thoughts and ideas, I don't have to agree or accept but I can respect them. I have a love of learning and have a diverse group of friends all with different attitudes and ideas. It makes life interesting.
I have been accused of sitting on the fence about things but that is because I can see both sides of a situation or at least find something I'd never considered before that has made me look at things in a different way and give it serious consideration.
I cannot understand what I do not know and so a sharing of ideas from all angles I think makes me a more rounded person.

Diversity challenges us to question our beliefs and practices. It allows us to view ideas from a different perspective, and thus to grow. How often have you been certain that your way of doing something was perfect and ideal, only to later find that there existed a more efficient method. Diversity brings out the best in people, business practices and art. Creative humans feed on the flow and interchange of ideas.
If scientist didn't collaborate with one another, progress would slow. If musicians didn't borrow techniques, music would be boring. If business didn't adopt different attitudes about women's rights, rights of the disabled and so on, we'd have a one sided and exclusive economy, which in turn would greatly impact our bottom line.
And having an understanding and respect for diversity is an integral component of the fight for Human Rights.
Change is a good thing

Do you like colors in a painting? How about a color TV over a black and white one--so that you have a choice to watch color or B&W?
I think diversity is about options. Diversity represents change. When you are down don't you want the option to...um...not be down? There's a diversity of choice and being there. You can choose to be sad/happy...or just be sad/happy.
So, diversity is change and change is the only constant...this world is diversity, that's why we need is. Because it is the world.

I think that diversity is important, because like you said for one you can expand your horizons by learning about different cultures and customs, but also on a deeper level you can find elements that connect us all that are present in everyone regardless of ethnicity or label. It's this realization of an inner unity that is so very important that is definitely lacking in a world where false borders and labels divide people and create false wars and needless pain and isolation. No man is an island! I hope this makes sense?

Because people are confused on diversity.
Please consider the following statements:
1. Diversity is in unity.
2. Unity is in diversity.
Of 1 & 2, which one is true?
Kindly figure out. You would understand the importance of diversity.

What diversity are you referring to? Genetic? Ethnic?
And important is not an absolute word; Important for whom? You? me? God? US?
How genetic diversity in individuals of the same species helps the species survive is a topic for biology.
As for ethnic diversity, it seems to have the potential of weakening the overall social and communal bonds and thereby allowing for greater individual freedom. If your community is homogeneously white christian, you have prejudice against non-whites and non-Christians. If you have too many Africans or people from new guinea, well, then you seriously run the danger of being eaten.
Personally, I'm thankful for the wonderful diversity of this country. Especially for Chinese food!

without diversity there would be the same old same old boreing world. There wouldn't be an exchange of knowledge.
There would be no reason to try harder. To be better and to reinvent things that need to change.
There would be little inspiration for learning new things. Understanding things in a different way. and so on...
