We atheists are nothing like what the church leaders are fond of charicaturing us as. We are freethinking individuals who are able to see the Big Picture without the blinders of religion. We do not live in despair, quite the contrary; freethought is incredibly refreshing, liberating, and empowering. We are not nihilists, but lovers of life who see it as all the more precious because there's no eternal afterlife. We do not need the bribe of heaven or the threat of hell to be good people, we believe in being good for its own sake. Through science and reason, we know more about the true nature of the world we live in than your religion could ever hope to offer.

We are not the enemy of christians and other theists. Our quarrel is with irrationality, wishful thinking, superstitions, intellectual dishonesty, and all other forms of thinking that keep mankind mired in darkness, ignorance and hate.

Depends on your interpretation of 'wonderful happy'. I'm not an atheist, I simply believe differently than most people. Happy? A person can only be happy when his mind is at ease with his body, soul and surroundings, and that includes food and shelter. Most of the religious people I know are not happy simply because they think they need to suffer for their belief. I don't.

Then again, the atheists have more time to enjoy things since they aren't worrying about how to get around the man-made laws supposedly from their god figure instead of just accepting they are humans and will never be godlike in anything from their behavior to their diet. Yet the feeling of family one gathers in a group of true believing Christians at church is very relaxing and can make most people want it all the time.

I could never do the belly watching or fiery tempers of two of the religions, yet I have to admire the both of them because those believers can. Never did much take to rules, so the world's most spoke about religion since the Roman times wasn't for me, yet I sure admire some of my Latin friends that obey all those rules and are happily content to do so.

Aw, heck! Everyone's right and I'm just wandering about! Philosophy is only a checker game played with Monopoly game tokens over an upturned oil drum in the middle of a garage in the summer!

It is because they are living their life the way they want to, not the way the Church tells them they should live their life. They do not have the burden of thinking 'I shouldn't do this, what will people say?'. I am not a Theist nor an Atheist, but I believe I'm more fond of the second ones. You live your life for yourself, for what makes you happy; not for what others will think is good and right. As long as you lead an ethical life, you do not go around hurting/killing/etc people, and seek your personal fulfillment, then it's all good.

The "grass is always greener".

We are all the same on average ! The atheists have 10% (Tithing) in their pockets but probably spend it on social events. The fundies pay 10% and have church social events. Life is hard for all societies slaves.

Become an evangelist preacher or a politician if you want a money worry free life. Money does surely buy Love !

We still have morals, it's just we do not feel obligated to be supreme or subordinate to any god or person. We do not live in fear of falling into the depths of your "hell" or worried we may not ascend to the extremities of your "heaven." We see things through eyes less biased then some christians. While a christian may be appalled by a satanist, us atheists understand that anyone can believe what they want to. Of course, I alone cannot speak for the entirety of the atheist population.

How do you know they are happy? Do you think they smile or laugh more than believers?

Everybody has his own troubles, whether he is atheist or not. Laughs do not necessarily mean happiness, because we never know what is inside one's heart. Perhaps he just hides his sorrow; it is just a camouflage.

Lack of fear, taught by the traditional churches to their children, that anything that feels good is liable to put you into eternal damnation and confine you to the nether region for eternity.

It is what they use to control their members and shame them into contrubiting money to the church.

So the answer to your question is: No fear, nice life.

g-day!
