A liberal state of being unattacked in any way.

I would say it depends upon the situation where this is used. To me this word conveys the meaning of compulsarily restricted situation .

If so , I would say that "setting Free" is the opposite

Freedom in Jesus Christ.

This type of freedom makes dualisms like "repression vs. expression" obsolete. Because in Christ it is not, "yes or no," but the answer is always "Yes."
