Look creationists, it's not that hard: We see things the way they are because we are here to see them. Sounds like a simple statement, but it is actually much deeper and you need to reflect on this. You use the Anthropic Principle every time you invoke the word 'God'. Your problem is the ABUSE of this concept. It should not be used every time you can't explain something. Your inability to explain something should compel you to try and understand it in a more detailed way or learn its mechanisms, not cop out and invoke some ambiguous concept. Bottom line: CREATIONISTS HAVE LAZY BRAINS...

Consider celebrities who are viewed as examples for
minors and other easily influenced individuals.

Some of these celebrities obtain their "coolness" from
drug use and irresponsible behavior. Media tabloids
give the celebrities the publicity that the celebrities require.

What are your thoughts on allowing publicizing a celebrity
in drug rehab as an example that irresponsibility has
consequences? If only a celebrities enjoyment of
irresponsibility is publicized then isn't that reinforcing
irresponsibility for the media viewers.

The main controversy in this question is as follows:
Is it more socially beneficial to prevent drug use before
it happens?
OR/Both?
Is it more socially beneficial to make current drug users
comfortable with seeking rehab?

Obviously this a multi-dimensional controversy. Some people
develop drug habits due to sincere life crisis while others
develop drug habits for unreasonable casual reasons.

Shouldn't people be joining something together as a symbol of unity rather than cutting or splitting something?

The average person believes so.
There is a lot of evidence towards it.
I'm researching the philosophical resoning to lie.

But I'm interested in anyone who strongly believes that lying is not selfish other than in situations in which the lying is used to get SOMONE ELSE out of trouble.

I am a teenager. True.
Outside, I am young a restless.
Indestructable and sometimes a bit cruel.
I am a hypocrite of the men who make mistakes.
I am. Yet I am human, and therefore I think.

Multi-question.

I do not know my destiny.
Its impossible to figure out at this point in my life.
But why am I here?
Why are WE here?

I am sure there is a begining.
I know there is an end.
The meanings of both??
I do not know.

Preach to me your theories.

I am a teenager.
Adulthood is soon enough.
Until then the inner part of me is curious.
Thirsty for knowledge and the meaning of life.
She doesn't want to go on a do the wrong thing...
She wants to do the right.
She wants to be a hypocrite no longer.

I am. Yet I am human, and therefore I think.

Your theories on the meaning of life please.
Your theories on the meaning of time, the idea that there may be none left.
Your theories on death...heaven hell and the afterlife.
Your theories on feelings of hope and grief.

just an hour back i was angry over why my father takes in thankless job helping people and in the process giving tensions to all of us(in some way or other), but just now i read the papers and found that a qualified young guy from the my college had been stabbed while he was asleep by robbers, and then i also read about a witness who went back on his statement (lured by money) to save a rich brat from a case where he moved 7 people with his BMW after a party in the night. Why should this world exist there is no justice, no sense of remorse, no order no apparent reason only chaos??? Why cant things be changed even when we know it is wrong??? whats the reaaon for living in a pathetic world??

Can someone please help me understand John Stuart Mill and Bernard Williams: Utilitarianism? The specific part about "lying"?

I have a final in about a week and a have and I need to understand his concepts.

"Thus it would often be expedient, for the purpose of getting over some momentary embarrassing, or attaining some object immediately useful to ourselves or others, to tell a lie."

I read or heard a quote that described one of the attributes of being human as the wanting to better ones self. The thing is perhaps we can only go so far with it.
Of recent I've tried to be more confident and social, but I'm not a confident or social person so does that mean I'm lying to myself and trying to be something I'm not or am I trying to better myself? What are your experiences and what do you think about this?

* In one hand, robbing us by imposing Green taxes & others.
* Increases airport taxes in the aim(the way they think!) will reduce people travelling!
* In the other hand, trying to extend Stansted airport to accommodate more flights & more millions of passengers.
** Our government is contradicting it self by itself & its action on the ground.
** The government proves that it aim of impleminting the green taxes is not a genuin aim.
PEOPLE BE VIGILANT & DON'T LET YOUR SELVES DRAGGED IN THE TAX GAMES, WE ARE BEING JUST ROBBED BY THE GOV. & THEY WILL USE OUR MONEY IN PAYING FOR THOSE EXPENSES.
STOP BEING MILKING COWS!!!
