It is predjudice, racist and sexist. It teaches discrimination on all levels to promote itself and make other things sound worse.

Religion, in many cases, has become so twisted from what it originally advocated. For example, the point of Christianity was to love and care for all equally (Christ himself said so). Now, it's turned into hatred for homosexuals, other religions, and close-mindedness towards scientific advancement.

Poison doesn't just turn up in wine. It's the cup holders that sprinkle it in.

Religion is like a gun. It can save and it can kill, and it has done both throughout history. It is the same with any tool.

Behind religion, there is spirituality, which is the personal relationship one has with their god or faith. This in itself, is harmless, because it exists entirely within.

It is when spirituality gives rise to human behavior that we get a form of expression called religion.

Some of the most noble acts of human kind, and some of our darkest moments, have been inspired this way.

Find any tool that is useful, like a hammer, a knife, or even a gun, and the story is the same. Useful tools are used for good and evil, but we will never give up the good, no matter how many times those tools are misused.

Would you give up every good thing that could be used wrongly? Once you start naming them off, you will see that you can't.

It is up to each of us to use our tools wisely, and to set the best example for their use, rather than simply turn them over to the unwise.

Are you sure it's religion or the people who claim to be of a certain religion? All the world's great religions teach humanity to be kind, just, loving, truthful, and helpful. That has never changed throughout the ages. However, people who call themselves religious have replaced the pure teachings of religion with their own selfish agendas and falsely claim they have fenced god in and that he is on their side.

Religion by itself is worthless and harmless .It is a toy in the hands of the child( human) to seek identity . When ideology has a unholy liaison with the practitioners of the religion , the result is poisonous elixir which for some is deadly and for some rewarding

I don't agree with the first answerer.
The first bible was definetally not as prejudice.

The truth is that the steriotypes that our society has created are in fact atleast 51 percent right.
The other 49 percent suffer from this form of prejudice.

The men who edited the bible over hundreds and hundreds of years inserted these prejudices....

hence, the new no-blacks
slave loving
hypocritical
steriotyping bible.

IMAGINE THAT written on the cover.

I do not agree. Religion has always been the backbone of a of cultures even civilizations. It has provided our elders the inspiration, the drive, sometimes the ambition to better themselves. However, I sincerely believe that a lot of these old world religions are fast becoming unresponsive. They are becoming irrelevant. To some, these may connote a "poison" that slowly endangers our existence. But what is good is that a lot of new ones are already in place to fill in the void. We can not dismiss the fact that somehow, these organizations make a lot of lives easier. If one is left dumbfounded, anchoring one's self to a set of beliefs will provide a map, or a guide, with which he or she can use to plot his existence.

i did no longer recognize you have been writing your dissertation! you're a pessimist? I had no thought. (sarcasm meant) You enhance some stable factors despite the fact that. i think of what separates Islam from Christianity is a huge majority of Islamic worldwide places government are based or lead with the aid of non secular leaders and or doctrines. you will see that why this could be unfavourable to varied issues inclusive of non secular freedom, human rights, females's rights, etc. What do you think of could ensue to you in case you had the gall to place in writing what you wrote right here in case you lived in Iran case in point? despite the fact that, understand that between the themes with faith and admittedly words usually is they're in a position to be interpreted somewhat some diverse techniques. You of course are a pessimist. There are stable issues that come out of religion. Take morals case in point, i'm no longer pointing out that those agnostic or atheists don't have morals however the bible itself grew to become into no longer meant to be literal yet relatively to tutor morals with the aid of thoughts.

I genuinely believe that if there is going to be a Third World War, it would be due to the clash between the two major religions, namely Christianity and Islam.
