When we consider the billions of years which came before us, and the billions of years to come after us, what do our brief life spans really mean, if anything? Isn't religion a means of trying to deny this reality? Isn't this why belief in the immortality of the soul is so prevalent? Isn't it an attempt to deny our insignificance?

What drives you on to do anything in life? Desires not yet fulfilled? Doesn't everything we do stem from some kind of desire towards or away from something?

Ps) I'm saying desires in themselves are a bad thing. Just curious as to what motivates ppl do move towards anything in life. and what happens when we finally get what we want? What then?

Thanks☺

....and do you think there's a karma comeback for those who do? .......maybe it's my catholic upbringing (hold the holy slams please) but it really bothers me when I hear people say something derogatory about someone who has passed away.

Guilt seems more like a state of mind that prolly isn't necessary most of the time. Remorse feels like a genuine emotion. Not sure.

What do ya think?

Thanks☺

Space-If it isn't, that means that everything is in one place and everywhere at the same time.

Time-If it isn't, that means that we are already in heaven and another sense of us is performing acts here on Earth.

ok this is also my sis's poem. Once again, she's almost 14.

Here it is... the name is "At Least for the Day"

My eyes turn bloodshot,
as my body trembles,
I plug my ears,
I just can't take it anymore,
can't take the,
nagging,
pestilence,
antagonism,
rivalry,
demoralization,
brutality,
or even the bellows or blows i recieve,
my hands shake,
at every sound she makes,
can't she just go away,
and save me from my,
pain,
depression,
or anger?
Why can't she just leave?
"Leave!" I say,
"at least for the day!"

SO WHAT DO U THINK OF HER POEM? I LIKE THIS ONE MORE... SHE WANTS U TO RATE IT ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10.......THANKS!

Think for yourself
Question authority

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.

Think for yourself.
Question authority.
