I regret that I cannot ever, ever comprehend questions like this. I can't see that we need a "reason, purpose or meaning." We exist. We live. Please carefully read theorypa & X. They said it far better than I can. Asking these thins is like beating your head in a brick wall. There are no answers.
There is no question. LIVE. Let's say we live to THRIVE.

Does your life require a reason for existence? If you think so, you're only going to arrive at one of two conclusions, that either evolution or (some sort of variation of) God brought you about. Personally, I think dealing with the fact that you ARE here instead of dwelling on how you came to be here is more important, but I digress. From my perspective (and evolutionarily speaking), your purpose as a living thing is to survive and ultimately reproduce- that is, your genes are using you as an end to their purpose, not so you can wonder why you are here. Really you can attach whatever meaning you want to life, but living by some basic rules and cooperation with other human beings will help ensure your survival. So with all that said, your purpose is to just live and stop worrying so much.

simple answer, why not? as with all animals on this spinning
ball, we are here to do the same things that they do, be born,
live, and then die. it is just because humans have a higher
mentality that we think there is something more to this existence. our purpose is to make the generation better than
the one we had, maybe the will live longer, become disease free, who knows, maybe the cycle can be slowed or stopped.

We are here doing the things we want, and not things that force in our throats against free will. “ Why are we here”-- has nothing to do with what we can achieve in our lifetime. We are leapfrogging into achievements, not at the expense of “why are we here” but what is possible in making this world a peaceful place to thrive and live together.

I don't know where we came from or why we exist. I believe in order to cope with this inability to know--we each in our own individual way find a way to live with some purpose in mind--something that is meaningful to ourselves and helpful and inspiring to others in some fashion.

to learn in a relative hellhole we call Earth..... you don't learn much when things are easy do you? Everyone has a different lesson or lessons.... once we finish our lessons, whatever they may be, anywhere from learning to forgive from being a doctor, to being a good friend or listener.... then it's time to go home!

We are here because conditions are such that we can exist here. Our purpose as humans is to make it a better place with our combined efforts and ideas.

In short we must learn to love everything. You must love the man on the other side of the world who wants to kill you, you must learn to love the father that left your mother to raise you by her self. We must learn to see that everything that exist is god creation and we must learn to love ourselves and eachother as he loves us. You will know your on the right path when an elephant taking a crap makes you smile!

I think that's an answer we each have to answer for ourselves.
I think we're here to learn.
