It's very difficult for me to comprehend why anyone would ask such a question unless they were deeply depressed. Yet, since this is in Philosophy, let me say that there does not "need" to be a point. There is no "point" to be made. No need to continue looking for answers, when it's all right here. This moment. Ask yourself if it would really make a difference, (if all the things you stated were possible), if you KNEW? You'd still be here--living your life. & what a grand life it is, to enjoy, to thrive. There IS logic, but not in your question, or any questions about "What is the meaning of LIfe" that I so often see here. Live it! Each moment in which you choose to be aware of the beauty in it is your "immortality."

The most important part of living is to always help others and of course yourself- that makes life grow and spreads love throughout. Along the way your experiences are gems both difficult and wonderful.

I agree with the essence of your question absolutely. Human life and all life is completely irrelevant. If the asteroid hadn't hit 65 million years ago, humans wouldnt be here at all. How can one look at that and consider humans the apex of anything?

Laughable.
Someday all humans will be dead and everything we have done will be dust.

I cant answer this question and will not try to pretend I know the answer.

I will say that if I had not lived I would have missed a lot of great things in my life.

I feel that is one purpose that I am here.

Yes, there is a point. We are here, now, and we might as well take advantage of it. There are things to do, lessons to learn, and places to see, and emotions to feel, and challenges to overcome. So, accomplish the tasks you set for yourself and go from there. At the very least, you might learn something, which (to my point of view) is not something to sneeze at.

Who knows? Maybe learning is what we're here for...

We each decide the "point" of our existence. I'm here to travel and adopt stray animals.

good question, and very old one. Peple try to answer that question with religion.
To me it doesn't matter how or why etc. Since I am "here" I will try to do the best of it.

incredible- i beg to differ... maybe to an extent. but it's not all about pleasing yourself... then you could cheat on whoever you wanted and the world would be a dishonest greedy place (even moreso than now)

I feel the ultimate goal of life is to please yourself.
All desicions you make are ultimately made to benefit yourself; whether they are benefiting you in the future or in the immediate present determines generally whether they are regarded as 'good' desicions. Even things like community service are ultimately done to please yourself by knowing that you please others.
Or thats what I say :)

To see what can be seen, to do what can be done, to feel what can be felt, to be the best that one can be.
