My opinion is that it is worse to forget the good ones. At least when you have a memory that remembers the bad experiences, you are still left with the good ones. Yet when you forget the good ones, all you are stuck with are the bad ones, and personally, I think that would suck. :)

To forget Bad experiences is to have to live them again without a better grasp on how to handle them. To forget Good ones is to lose hope in bad times that things can be better. So I think it would be worse to forget the good experiences.

To forget the good ones would definitely be worse, and it would even be bad in a way to forget the bad ones. Having managed to get through our bad experiences and learn from them is what makes us stonger, better people. To forget those experiences would undo whatever growth we attained by surviving them. So remembering bad experiences isn't only not as bad as forgetting happy ones, but it's actually good to remember the bad experiences as well as the good ones.

To forget good experiences would be bad both because those memories are a source of happiness for us and because sometimes it is those memories that gives us the sustenance and hope we need to make it through the bad experiences. During times of adversity it would be extremely difficult to soldier on if we couldn't remember what happier times were like, because reminding ourselves that we'll somehow manage to get back to that happiness is what enables us to summon the fortitude to manage through adversity.

It is worse to forget the good ones as you will not know good and only remember your life as bad.

Here is yet another "either/or" question. All of your experiences, what you are experiencing at this very moment, are integral parts of you. There is harmony in all of them, whether you're aware or not. I certainly wouldn't suggest that we dwell on (what we may only perceive) as the bad, yet there's some truth in the concept that we can learn from "negative" experiences. However, I simply don't think in terms of "good" or "bad." If you looked "back," with absolute truth, could you say ABSOLUTELY that anything was inherently "bad?" Follow that "bad" thing. Where did it lead?
Where would you be had it not happened? How would you know without incredible introspection & wisdom? & even then, would you really know?

It is worse to forget the good memories because when negatism creeps in, thinking on good can chase the blues away.

And this can be a good thing for every human being to focus on::"Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, lovely, of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians ch. 4 vs 8.

If we do that-we won't focus on negative things or bad experiences so if they keep flitting back into your mind, think positive, is actually what this vs. says in a nutshell.

To me, the worst part of it is, we often are what we think i.e. negative or positive. What of those types of people do you like most to be around-which are you.

From experience, I can DEFINITELY answer remember the bad ones. Why? Because one almost always learns something from a BAD experience or decision, but if one had no good experiences to fall back on they would have no hope to move foward.
