What came first the color orange or the fruit the orange? Some friends and I were debating this at lunch the other day. Thought I would get some other peoples opinions. What do you think or know?

I'm looking for a symbol or something that I represents strength. To remind me that the I'm responsible for myself and I'm self sufficient, don't need anyone to make it on my own, etc. A friend of mine said to check on Eastern Philosophy but I didn't see anything. Does anyone have anything or suggestions of where I could look? I want something unique.

My feeling are that I am stepping on some very sensitive toes with my questions and answers. Not all of them of course, but definitely SOME!
If you feel I am, anybody, will you let me know your reason(S) . . Nothing more impeding of progress than having to tread upon egg shells or glass, I may seem to have NOT deliberately broken.
I feel I am strong enough and fair-minded to accept criticism righteously offer or deserved as valid.
I'd answer this question for anyone if anyone asked it of me . .
I usually am quite perceptive, living primarily a reclusive life. The REAL outside world does not come in to interfere or make the issue seem less important.
So . . if anyone seems offended by what opinions or questions I've asked which of course would expose a little of my feelings about any issue . . please respond!
I don't break easily . . and learn much by useful or helpful criticism, if that is what I need.
I pose questions as well as answer them, as earnestly, without need to compromise

This is something I'll thought about all throughout my life. Why does the world only think a piece of paper (diploma) is the only way to prove hard work? People can go to libraries which offer free knowledge, or look it up online. Just because they dropped out or never went to college does not mean they are incapable of doing a job. I mean it's not like you earn knowledge like you earn money. Knowledge can only be learned, and everyhting you need to learn is out there, free of charge. So why then, do you have to pay thousands of dollars to learn in order to get a simple degree that says, "I am qualified"?

What if is there's a day when your friends told you to go with them 'cause they're planning to have a party, hang out somewhere, have a trip, do some crazy stuff, etc..... Just to have fun bonding with your mates!!!

But, your plan for that day was to go to your girl/boyfriend's house for just a little surprise visit..... And, have some conversations, good laughs, watch some DVD's, check out some old pictures, etc.... and maybe this could improve your relationship....

To whom will you go?? Friends or Loved one?? And why????

If your fantasy, your ideal, suddenly came into your life and offered you the choice to be with them or your spouse/mate/etc. Would you stay, or would you go?

Your partner isint perfect, niether are you, but we all have our ultimate partner lodged inside our minds that we compare every other person we are with to. They have your idea of the perfect body, personality, demenor, intellegence, and temperment, but will you have the same love for them as you do toward your mate? Mabye you will mabye you won't. But the question is would you leave your partner to find out IF your perfect ideal fantasy companion offered you the choice. What would you do and why? Tell Matticus he WANTS to KNOW.

There is a paradox in the whole time travel situation, if indeed it will be possible to travel back in time in the future, wouldn't we know it? By now wouldn't someone have came back in time to inform the past that there will be time machines in the future? If in fact there will be time travel in the future then what would stop some one from going back to say the birth of our nation, giving our founding fathers all kinds of up to date history books and technology and making America the only country in the world, there would also be a butterfly effect in time, because every action that the founding fathers would do to change the future would cause a new version of the same history book that the time travelers brought back, untill inevitably the book would say, "America wins all, end of story", or they would screw up the future so bad that there would be no time travel and the meeting would never take place.
If there was time travel into the past and delicate information was obtained from the time traveler, then if the recipient of thus said delicate information acted upon this information in a way that changed the time travelers history to where time travel was not invented, then the recipient would not know of it and the meeting would have never happened.

In theory, if time travel is created in the distant future, and lets say that the creator's great, great, great, great grandfather was killed in the towers on 9/11. Now if the first thing that the creator wanted to do is right this wrong and stop the twin towers from being hit, then most likely he would go back in time to eliminate the terrorist before they could attack, most likely he would kill them while they were children since children are less able to protect themselves from danger or death. Well, what if the creator did not take into consideration that upon 9/11 his great, great, great, great grandfather's son was upset about the death of his father and joined the military to avenge his father, and while in the middle east he met a woman, who unknown to him was a daughter of one of the terrorist, and he had relations with her and they brought forth a son from this that would become the creator's great, great grandfather. That means that if he went back in time to right the wrong, his great, great, great, great grandfather would not have died, his great, great, great grandfather would not have gone to war, met the woman, who does not exist now, since her father died as a kid, and brought forth his son, who is the creator's great, great grandfather, meaning that now the creator does not exist. Wow, so not only did 9/11 not happen now, but time travel will not happen either.
