I notice that some people are more inclined to seek truth in their own subjective perceptions and hopes. They think what they believe is true because they can feel it or intuit it. Other people are more inclined to seek truth in objective analysis through tests and logic. They think what they believe is true because they can prove it (more or less) or logically defend it. Which inclination do you think you have? Which inclination is more desirable or beneficial to have? Which leads to greater happiness or satisfaction with life?

Could it be that both beliefs are "basic" in that neither belief depends on evidentiary support or some other belief? Alvin Plantinga is good at arguing that belief in God is a basic belief like the belief that 2 + 2 = 4. Or we have certain beliefs concerning perception which are basic. For example, my belief that the object within my field of vision is red. That belief seems to be basic. What think ye?

It makes sense once you think about it a bit. If there are time machines created in the future, then you would think that those people would be here, but they are not. So does that mean that a time machine will never be created?

I think that reguardless of whether there is a god, or an afterlife, or whatever.. If all people seek to learn about their own nature and better themselves, and reach toward goodness and kindness, your reward at the end of your life will be the lack of regret... and you will know you always tried hard. And you will end up a far greater person than the helpless, selfish being you you began life as. Is there a philosopher/philosophy/author who has written about this idea?

Aren't bad days just a day where something really bad overshadowed all the good things that might have happened and that's all you dwell on and vice versa?
