A traditional, and I believe, the best definition of "Love" is that of caring for another person more than yourself. There are many potential causes of this. Sexual attraction may be one, closeness of mind, family history, romantic feelings, or even instant affection may be others. Anytime that the well being/happiness of another becomes more important to you than your own, you love that other.
This definition is useful because it allows for "Love at first sight," it explains the sort of prideless nature of Love, and it can be used to describe familial, romantic, fraternal, affectionate, and even friendly love. Love is not bound up to just one aspect or emotion, but to the entirety of life. That is why things like "tough love" and the discipline of children stem from love, because you want what is best for the person you love. I hope this helps.

It is neither sex, which is a drive for reproduction and /or desire, or need which is a lack of self esteme or fills a void in ones life. The real meaning of love is in the self. My definition will surely differ from anyone elses but I know what it means to me.

Love is a feeling that you have . no expectation , no needs just a overwhelming feeling . If you need to have a reason to love or put it in a category as sex or need then you are not freely loving . it is a all knowing feeling that cant be explained . be true to your self and you will and show yourself love and real love will come . if you cant love your self you cant love any one else

I think its a mixture of a lot of things including sex relations. Missing a person when you are apart, loving everything about them. Enjoying everything you do with them!

Love Is Forever (a little true story)
On the day of Jack Benny's death in December 1974,
a single long-stemmed red rose was delivered to Mary Livingstone Benny, his wife of forty-eight years. When the blossoms continued to arrive, day after day, Mary called the florist to find out who sent them. "Quite a while before Jack passed away, " the florist told her, "he stopped in to send a bouquet.
As he was leaving, he suddenly turned back and said, 'If
anything should happen to me, I want you to send Mary a single rose every day.' There was complete silence on Mary's end of the line, then weeping, she said, "Goodbye."
Subsequently, Mary learned that Jack had actually included a provision for the flowers in his will, one perfect red rose daily for the rest of her life. â¥

Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast, its not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way, its not irritable or resentful, doe not rejoice at wrong doing but rejoice with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, endures all things. Love never ends!!

Its the absence of anger and it has no concept of right-wrong/ you-should-be-like me. Love is when we learn to treat ourselves and others with respect, diginity and without judgement.

I can only give you my definition of love.
Love is promoting each others' well -being...
Be it emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, financially, socially....in all ways.
If you are in a relationship which does not promote you,....why are you there? That is my idea............

Love is not to be understood. It is something to be felt, something to be lived...something to be experienced. To try to understand love would be like trying to understand God...impossible.
