I personally don't think that I would ever get so depressed I would no longer want to live. But if i had to guess...
1) money problems
2) Criminal Problems
3) Family leaving you
4) Mental Problems (imbalances in the brain and hormones can cause you to do some crazy stuff)
5) Serious illness that will only cause you to go through pain and then die.
People do it because they feel that they are being cornered and there is not other way out. The suicide rates are highest among teenagers and elderly people.

For some people, loss of a job, loss of a love, loss of a loved one like a parent or child or sibling. Drug or acohol abuse that has made them hit rock bottom. Or a combination of these things. Something that they think they can never fix. It may be a false impression brought on by drug use or depression. But it can make them feel they have no other option.

anything that demoralizes u and brings u to be ashamed of urself, if u were to feel as though u were completely alone in the world, if u felt ur life was like a giant pit where u can see the light above, but u are never able to climb up ur steep walls and reach it, hurting the ones u love

I will be totally honest. I was always told that there is nothing in the world worth ending your life over but if i ever lost my husband or my daughter i would want to die. I love them both with all my heart and soul and there is nothing in the world i wouldn't do for them.

If both of my children died, especially if they died in some gruesome and horrible way.
If all of my family members died all at once in some freak accident.
If I got wrongly convicted of some crime and was to sit on death row for 15 years.
If I was kidnapped and sold into some foreign country prostitution ring. And I had no way of ever escaping.
That's about it for me.

To be in constant and terrible pain. I have a fairly high pain threshhold but if I had to experience unrelentingly the worst I can remember, I'd seriously consider packing it in.

a terminal illness, it wouldn't make me want to die, but it would make me want to have a say in how i died, i would try to go out with a bang before i died of the illness
