Would they give more priority to the general well-being of the people instead of focusing too much on wars? Would they be able to change the thinking of people? What do you think?

We all talk about our body or our brain, that we have them. But we never say I am body or brain. If we would do that, we would be just a computer, not able to be conscious about ourselves. Why do still so many people believe that they do not exist beyond "their" body, but think that they will disappear when their body or brain dies? This is for me not logical, as even materialists say they "have" a body. So who is the "I" which "has" body and brain. The "I" just uses the body.
I would be interested what your thoughts are. Thank you.

When I say war-like I mean is there some sort of genetic disposition that make us the savages that we are. Psycohlogists say that men are inherently violent. And, while hid in normal society, it needs an outlet provided by war.

From ancient times to today we always seem to be at war, if it be for power, territory, or the "War for peace". Will there ever be a stop to it or will human beings always be plagued by conflict and that conflict be resolved by war?

In other words, what are some of the things I can do to be a better person?

I'm not surrounded by what you would call positive role models but I'm still fairly young and need some outside opinion.

I was just wondering... We all use the term, "Broken hearted" but how did the term originate? What's the heart to do with miserable emotions? Just curious.

What if you had a goal, for example a career goal or a project you wanted to create, but money was needed and you knew logically you couldn't get it. Would you continue with trying for your goal? Does life stop you from doing things you want to do becuase society has placed money first?

I already have a good idea of what writers have said about this, and I have my own first-blush opnion, but I'm still looking for a better answer. Does one explain/justify the other? Do they mark off one and the same realm? Are they just two different ways of looking at the world?

This is definitely one of the oldest questions. Like "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" question's younger sibling.

I'd like a fresher take on this. Something striking and relevant to today. Something that feels real - because the answers would be from you, real people, and not from some dusty old website or a silverfish-infested book. Cheers!
