This is definitely one of the oldest questions. Like "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" question's younger sibling.

I'd like a fresher take on this. Something striking and relevant to today. Something that feels real - because the answers would be from you, real people, and not from some dusty old website or a silverfish-infested book. Cheers!

Erotica is whatever arouses your sexual feelings. It could be the written word. It can even be music, like "Light My Fire" (The Doors).

Pornography is graphic pictorial representation. When Pompei was being excavated, they found pornographic graffiti on the walls where they had been for thousands of years.

Condemning things you don't like as "pornography" is one way despots try to control people. Margaret Sanger went to jail for 30 days because she dared to teach birth control, which offended postmaster-general Anthony Comstock.

First of all - techinically speaking - it's ALL erotica.

Porn is a pejorative term that I think is best associated with the cheaper stuff of poor quality.

Anyone who really enjoys "quality" erotica knows that the key is the author (as regards literature) and the director (as regards film/video).

As far as where you "draw the line," I'm not clear about what you mean. If you're talking about subject matter, I suggest you take a trip over to Hamburg, Germany and visit an adult store over there. Big difference between Germany and the USA. What we consider "kinky" would be...how can I describe this...you get up on a step ladder...and you can barely SEE the horizon of what is considered "kinky" over there. We're tame compared to European countries.

Basically, everyone has different tastes and "turn-ons."

What's exciting for you may be totally boring for another person in terms of erotica - and vice versa.

Erotica is more female based mood enhancers such as art and sculptures meant to show the skill of the artist. Pornography seems to be more male oriented based raw sexual acts.

Each may have it's "clean reason" in life, this would be hard for me to SPEAK about in a NON-VEGAN world... because I feel a lot is "thrown off" by the non-vegan world.
