Everyone over the age of 35 just disappeared for one year (not died)? What kind of world would it be when they came back? What would this young generation have done with this world?

You don't necessarily have to be a college graduate to answer this, but most graduate students in the humanities are more likely to shed some light on this question. Please do not bring up the idea of evolution vs. creationism. That is not what the question above is referring to. What I would like to know is: can science, to a degree, be a myth? Besides the Alan Sokel controversy, what other ideas would you suggest to validate the claim?

Why is it that sins of the flesh have such negative side effects? Why is it that stupid little stick we call cigarettes can have such devistating effects on your body if you use them too much? Please, don't tell me about the chemical effects of cigarettes. I know how they kill you, but I can't understand why. I mean, why aren't cigarettes on a daliy basis good for you? Why is alcohol on a daily basis so bad for you? Why do these products cause addiction? Why does alcohol destroy your liver? Why can't alcohol be extremly fun, while at the same time be extremly good for you? Why is a promisquous lifestyle dangerous? I understand the risk of pregnancy, but I can't understand the risk of disease or viruses. Why is it that the only reasonable source of fuel for cars is so destructive on the environment? Of every element on Earth, the one perfectly suited to make a car run best emits CO2, which destroys our environment.

Sometimes of these challenges seem infinitely difficult--as in I could make it as hard as I want to make it and reap rewards accordingly--but at some point I feel I have to find a level where I could feel comfortable and not have to keep pushing myself and going through unnecessary difficulties.

Some people are wired to keep pushing themselves and not care about anything else but I can't do it without having to give up other things I enjoy. So is it alright to find a happy medium even though it may mean you do not live up to your full potential?

And how they helped reinforce the validity of studies such as the phenomenom of concience. Before, it was considered that it was not valid because conscience is just a complex disposition of matter (brain), so it was enough with studying matter.

The question is, who "put" those emerging events on the way, or was it just a matter of luck?

I've heard somewhere about the belief of subjective reality, and well I'm confused. If subjective reality was real, would all of the people I interact with be imaginary? Like a projection of myself? So would that mean that my emotions are affecting theirs? And the whole "conciousness" thing is also confusing. Is my world conciousness? Am I conciousnes or is what is going on AROUND me conciousness? Can someone explain it to me? Thanks! =)
