You already know the answer to this question.

Have you ever been outside -- insignificant where -- took a deep breath of the air, closed your eyes, and felt connected?

Really think. City people: connected to the hustle, bustle, and excitement. Rural people: connected to the clear skies and cricket-song filled nights. Suburban people: connected to the comforting hum of middle-class society.

I have felt connections in all of these and more.

The connection may be thought of as the spirit-matter continuum. Ultimately, everything is spirit (energy-consciousness) and thus the great spirit (God) brought the universe, and all that goes with it, into play. However, we must conceptualize (individualize) everything in our minds in order to interact and experience not only things as the "other" but ourself--even ourself as spirit. But, if you only experience spirit and nature (matter) as two separate concepts or thing-events then you can never know (live) such as a continuum. Our basic intelligence is that continuum (totality of being)! Thus the connection can be found in nature even as within ourself. So, wed and resolve the contraries within and we may bridge the gap and know ourself as energy-consciousness: Such Is the Word!

Spirit And Nature

The connection is energy. It exists at the level at which each individual entity is able to feel or communicate it. All life is bound together by this force. Islands only exist in isolation by definition. They are all connected by the sea and the sea bed to use a geographical analogy.
Free will allows us to acknowledge this connection or refute it. Happy contemplation.

Only to the extent that our heartbeat is connected to our pulse.

Nature implies that which is given and spirit implies that which is nurtured, but neither can be without the other.

Example: good natured, upbeat, spirited, unnatural, downbeat, ill spirited or any combination (i.e. unnaturally spirited or naturally ill spirited and verse visa)

Connection yes, uncomplicated , no.
